Gaelic4Girls has hit Kiltubrid by storm with over 30 girls from the parish descending onto Kiltubrid Football Pitch to be treated to 60 minutes of great fun and coaching in Ladies Gaelic Football every Saturday morning from 10am.

We had a very exciting morning as we had a very special visit from Áine & Niamh Tighe who brought both the Lynch and O’Connor Cups which they won at the O’Connor Cup weekend recently in Belfast.

Over 30 girls turned out for training and we celebrated with a small party after our session.

We are into week 4 of our Gaelic4Girls programme which has been huge success so far, and it is just fantastic to see so many young girls out training and having fun!

We have new players joining each week so it’s not too late to join in on the action!

Training continues Saturday mornings from 10-11 at Kiltubrid GAA pitch. This programme continues for another 4 weeks every Saturday from 10 in Kiltubrid Gaelic Football pitch. It is fantastic to see so many enthusiastic girls, who have little Gaelic Football experience enjoying themselves.

The Gaelic4Girls programme is open to girls aged 8-12 years who are not part of a Ladies Gaelic Football Club and who are interested in learning the skills of the game.

All girls from Kiltubrid and the surrounding areas are encouraged to attend and learn the skills of Ladies Gaelic Football from enthusiastic and qualified coaches. The girls will be taught the basic skills of Gaelic football on a fun basis and will get to demonstrate their new skills at a fun mini-blitz.

All girls will be presented with a Gaelic4Girls t-shirt and certificate on completion of the programme. A major bonus from the programme is that all participants will get the chance to participate in a Mini Blitz with another Gaelic4Girls site after the county blitz. The cost for the entire programme is only €8.

A big thanks to all our coaches, parents and especially players who have helped out so far in creating a wonderfully successful Gaelic4Girls programme, and we hope to continue the success over the coming weeks.

Anybody who would like more details on this programme is asked to contact our Gaelic4Girls coordinator Carol Keaney on 0877947556 for more info.
