With less than a month to go to the Connacht Senior Championship meeting with Roscommon in Hyde Park, preparations are going into over-drive in the Leitrim camp.

As the Leitrim Observer revealed online last Thursday, manager Sean Hagan has added five players to the training panel before he finalises his 30 man squad in the coming week.

Eslin brothers Conor and Mark Beirne have been joined by Mohill duo Shane Quinn and Alan McLoughlin and Aughnasheelin’s Barry McWeeney on the training panel while the Observer also understands that Enda Lyons had withdrawn from the squad due to his committment with the County Minor team, having been elevated to the team following Cathal McCrann’s injury.

The Observer also understands that the clash with Roscommon will have a 3 pm throw-in time as Roscommon town hosts the end of the first stage of the An Post Ras on Sunday, May 18. GAA officials believe that the 3 pm start will give spectators time to get to the ground before traffic restrictions for the cycle race come into force.
