Inspirational Tipperary Captain, Brendan Maher will be the special guest of honour at a medal presentation ceremony in The Swan Bar, Carrick-on-Shannon on Friday, November 21st.

Carrick Hurling Club is delighted to have a player of the stature of Brendan Maher to present medals to their players at the end of a long but very successful year.

The club has had a fantastic 2014, winning several competitions and the Tipp man will have a busy night presenting medals at various grades including Under 12, Under 14, Under 16 and Senior.

Brendan Maher, from the Borris-Ileigh Club in North Tipperary, is regarded as one of the best hurlers in the country, a brilliant half back who captained his county to the 2007 All Ireland Minor title before going on to win the ultimate prize in 2010 when Tipperary claimed the Liam MacCarthy Cup.

In all, Brendan has one Senior All Ireland, three Senior Munster Chamionships, one All Ireland Under 21 Championship, two Munster Under 21 Championships, two All Ireland Minor Chamionships and one Munster Minor Championship. Just last month, Maher was rewarded for a fantastic year by winning his second All Star Award.
