Leitrim Ladies are just one step from Croke Park but face a difficult task when they take on favourites Waterford next Saturday in Limerick in the All-Ireland Semi-Final.

The Aine Tighe inspired Green & Gold Ladies take on the Munster women in Limerick’s Gaelic Grounds in the televised TG4 All-Ireland Intermediate Championship Semi-Finals on Saturday with a 4.15 pm throw-in.

The two sides met in Ballinamore in the League back in April with the Munster side coming out on top of a high scoring 5-11 to 3-9 encounter but both teams have had common threads through their championship campaigns.

Pat Costello’s team had four points to spare over Clare in the quarter-final while Waterford beat the Banner Ladies by four points in the Munster Final. Waterford defeated Sligo by ten points in their quarter-final in Birr while Leitrim defeated the Yeatswomen by three points in the Connacht Final in July, 1-17 to 1-14.

The winners on Saturday will meet with Kildare or Offaly in the All-Ireland Final in Croke Park on September 27, with Leitrim looking to return to GAA headquarters for the first time since they last lifted the Intermediate title in 2007.
