In the wake of their demolition in McHale Park, Leitrim were handed a small crumb of comfort in today’s (Monday, July 2) All-Ireland Qualifier draw when they were pitted to face Wicklow at home in Pairc Sean Mac Diarmada.

With the timing and date of the game yet to be finalised, Leitrim will be in action against the Garden County men on either Saturday, July 14, or Sunday, July 15.

The two sides met earlier in the year in Aughrim in the National League where Wicklow eased to a 2-13 to 1-10 victory that was more comfortable than the scoreline suggests but with the game in Carrick, Leitrim will be hoping for a different response.

However, Leitrim could go into the game severely weakened with both Wayne McKeon and Shane Moran a serious doubt for the game after injuries sustained in the Castlebar encounter against Mayo.
