Leitrim renew their rivalry with neighbours Roscommon next Saturday in the TG4 All-Ireland Intermediate Qualifiers in Kilglass.

Fresh from the victory over Antrim in the first round of the Qualifiers, Leitrim will face a Roscommon team who needed extra time to see them off when they met in the Connacht Championship at the Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence in May.

However, that encounter saw Leitrim able to call on the services of the Tighe sisters and Sinead Fowley and while Roscommon went on to lose the Connacht Final to Sligo, the home teams will be more tham confident of completing a championship double over their neighbours in Kilglass.

The game has a 1 pm throw-in and Leitrim will be hoping that a young squad can build on their 3-20 to 2-15 victory over Antrim where Roisin Fowley landed nine points, Michelle Heslin weighed in with 1-5 while Kiera Keegan’s welcome return to the team saw her score 2-1 on the day.

The odds are against Leitrim but that may yet suit the Green & Gold.
