Selectors Brian Breen & George Dugdale were appointed as joint managers of the Leitrim Senior team at last Sunday’s Convention after they received the backing of delegates.
The appointment follows the sudden announcement two weeks ago that Mickey Moran would be stepping down from his position as Leitrim senior manager due to ill health but County Board Chairman Joe Flynn revealed that the selectors had agreed to jointly take over the role - “I spoke to George and Barney and they have agreed to stay on as joint managers.
“They hope to get a selector who would be ratified by the executive. They met with the players yesterday (Saturday) to tell them they would be happy to continue.”
The duo will take control of team affairs for a two year period, subject to a review at the end of the year with Joe commenting, “We welcome the commitment, they asked for two years, subject to review.”
