The London County Board today confirmed a potential crisis that would have had serious ramifications for the exiles in next months county championship clash with Leitrim has been averted

As was reported in this week’s Leitrim Observer a ruling by GAA Congress states that players wishing to play inter-county football must have played club championship football for the county they wish to represent.

The introduction of this rule left London facing the prospect of having to take to the field on June 3 in Ruislip without up to 12 players.

However, it has now been confirmed that the London Club Championships will commence in late May rather than July as had originally been scheduled.
