The dream of a first appearance in a Connacht Championship final since 2000 and a first title since 1994 may have come to an end for this year but there is still plenty to look forward to for Leitrim GAA supporters with the qualifier draw scheduled to take place tomorrow morning (Monday).

The dream of a first appearance in a Connacht Championship final since 2000 and a first title since 1994 may have come to an end for this year but there is still plenty to look forward to for Leitrim GAA supporters with the qualifier draw scheduled to take place tomorrow morning (Monday).

Leitrim join the other beaten provincial semi-finalists - Roscommon, Wexford, Kildare, Waterford, Clare, Cavan and Down in the second round of the qualifiers.

The defeated provincial semi-finalists will be drawn against one of the counties who emerged victorious in their first round qualifier match this weekend - Laois, Tyrone, Louth, Fermanagh, Longford, Galway, Armagh and Derry.

The second round qualifier games are scheduled to take place next weekend but it was indicated by sources to the Leitrim Observer that beaten semi-finalists will not be expected to compete within a week, meaning Leitrim’s game is expected to be played on July 13.
