Mohill and St. Mary’s Kiltoghert will meet in a repeat of the 2006 Final after both booked their places in the Connacht Gold Leitrim Senior Championship Final on Saturday evening.
St. Mary’s had a convincing 1-13 to 0-4 victory over Carrigallen in the first game, a Robbie Lowe goal in added time proving crucial as Carrigallen trailed by just a point at the time.
Carrigallen failed to score for the entire second half as St. Mary’s eased to a comprehensive victory.
The second game was a tale of two halves with Mohill leading 2-4 to 0-1 at the break, two goals in the space of a minute from Padraig Tighe the crucial scores. Gortletteragh managed just a single score in the first half but the second half was a different story as two goals from Padraig Gallagher and another from Cathal McCrann had the gamae in the melting pot.
Mohill managed to hang on for a 3-7 to 3-5 victory to return to the final for the first time since they defeated St. Mary’s in the 2006 Final.
