“It is a tough day for everyone,” Enda told the Observer, “the boys have put in a tremendous effort all year for me. Unfortunately, the ten minutes after halftime changed the game for us and we never really got back into it in the second half.

“But I can’t say anything other than the boys worked extremely hard today and every day we asked. They’re a great bunch of lads, they are a credit to themselves, their clubs and their parents the way in the way they’ve held themselves over the year.

“The boys worked extremely hard all year and I don’t think if our levels of fitness weren’t were they are at, the result could have been a whole pile worse.”
