New premises secured for Tusla in Leitrim

TUSLA

A much needed new premises has been secured to Tusla in Carrick-on-Shannon. The premises is located in the Shannonside Retail Park on the Dublin Road out of Carrick-on-Shannon.

Fine Gael Deputy Tony McLoughlin has announced the news to the Leitrim Observer this evening.

He said, “This is very welcome news and comes after I raised the real need for a new premises with the Minister for Children, Katherine Zappone, on a number of occasions.

“Tusla is currently located in unsuitable offices in the local Health Centre. I’m happy to say that the Minister for Children has now written to me to inform me that the Board of Tusla has recently approved the lease of new modern office space at Shannonside Retail Park in the town.

“This new premises will accommodate staff and services and work will begin shortly to fit it out.

“The Minister for Children has informed me that it’s hoped that Tusla will have moved into the new building before the end of the year."
