Cavan County Council blamed for damaging a Leitrim road

Cllr Gerry Dolan

Cavan County Council has been blamed for damaging a road in Corraleehan which is located on the edge of the county boundary.

Independent Cllr Gerry Dolan told members of the Ballinamore Municipal meeting today Monday, September 26 that Cavan County Council “destroyed the road” which is located between Corraleehan Church and the Cavan boundary.

Council Engineer Michael Flynn acknowledged the damage and explained it occurred when Cavan County Council had to draw material across the Leitrim side to repair the road on the Cavan side.

He said Leitrim County Council officials are due to meet with Cavan Engineer Derry Scanlan to discuss the issues.
