Carrick Men's Shed successfully appeal planning refusal

Carrick-on-Shannon's Men's Shed have successfully appealed a planning decision to refuse the group permission to develop a property for their workshops.

An Bord Pleanála has overturned the refusal by Leitrim County Council in June this year.

Plans are under way to turn the 95-square-metre building located on the Dublin Road, Carrick-on-Shannon beside Pairc Sean MacDiarmada  into a bathroom, kitchen, sitting room and a workshop area.

Leitrim County Council refused permission earlier this year on the grounds that the premises was in a dangerous condition and unfit for the development proposed.

An Bord Pleanála has now granted permission subject to conditions.
