Visiting restrictions continue at Sligo Hospital

Sligo University Hospital has renewed its request seeking the continued co-operation of the public during the current Norovirus outbreak.

The following visiting restrictions continue to apply:

- No visiting is allowed, except for End of Life situations and other exceptional circumstances, as agreed with the specific ward manager in advance of visiting.
- No children are allowed visit at this time, as they may be particularly susceptible to the illness.
The hospital encourages the public to contact their GP or GP Out-of-Hours service in the first instance and not to attend the Emergency Department unless absolutely necessary. This virus is also currently active in the wider community and therefore it is important that these restrictions continue throughout the bank holiday weekend to avoid further spread of infection to patients within the hospital.
