Manor's traffic lights to be ready in two weeks

Works continue to set up traffic lights in Maorhamilton

The controversial traffic lights for the junction of Manorhamilton's Main Street and the N16 are expected to be operational in two weeks time.

Town Councillor Felim Gurn told the paper in Manorhamilton today Monday, November 21 that works are expected to be finished on the lights this week and another week may be needed for ESB to turn them on.

The junction had been described as “incredibly dangerous” by local councillors with numerous notices of motion put forward over the past few years and several meetings between local representatives and staff of Leitrim County Council in a bid to find a solution.

There have been concerns locally about parking spaces being impacted by the traffic lights, but the council says there are no plans to change parking in the town.
