Operation Transformation is coming to Leitrim for the seventh year with four walks in the county over the first weekend in January in Carrick-on-Shannon, Dromahair, Manorhamilton and Ballinamore.
Sport Ireland and the national network of Local Sports Partnerships have teamed up with Operation Transformation to promote healthy living in 2017. Last year over 15,000 people took part in Operation Transformation walks nationally.
The Leitrim walks start on Saturday January 7, with the walking getting underway at 11 am with the exception of Dromahair which will be held at 10am.
Details of the walks are as follows:
Ballinamore 5K Walk - starting at Ballinamore Community Sports Complex at 11.00.
Carrick on Shannon 5.5K Walk - starting at Leitrim County Council offices at 11.00.
Manorhamilton 5K Walk - starting at the Bee Park Community at 11.00.
Dromahair 4K Walk - starting at the Health Centre at 10.00.
The walks will be led by trained Leitrim Sports Partnership walking leaders. We welcome all ages and abilities and we would particularly like to see families getting involved. Why not make a day of it and remember no matter what age you are it is never too late to get active and stay active!
