According to the cheerful souls in Met Éireann, today will be a cold, cloudy day with rain becoming widespread in the afternoon. Heavy downpours and some local flooding are likely as well as sleet and snow on higher ground.
Afternoon highs of 7 or 8 degrees but the wind chill factor will leave you thinking it is much colder. Sorry.....
