The Last Cast - Jarlaith Gallagher

This event is a big event for the club and is its way of reciprocating the goodwill and support it recieves from the people and businesses in the South Leitrim area. The date to mark on your calendar is August 31!

This year’s family fun day promises to be a fantastic day out for all the family and there are loads of events lined up for the enjoyment for all age groups. Once again the internationally renowned Garda Band shall play their eclectic mix of hits from the not too distant past and the present.

Also on the music billing is the “Ronan Gallagher Band” who are currently making a name for themselves as a fantastic live act in venues up and down the country.

For those who appreciate watching the skills involved in Irish dancing, The “Roisin Kennedy Irish dancers” shall be giving exhibitions of modern and sean os dancing. The “Charlene Mulligan Hip Hop Dancers” shall balance out the scales as far as dancing is concerned with her very talented group of students and shall have the stage rocking with all the most up to date hip hop moves and shakes!

A whole host of other activities are also on offer to include boat trips around the lake, donkey and cart rides provided by Gerry Bohan and Shergar the donkey! Kayak trips by Tommy Gaffney Rooskey.

All those activities will surely build up a hunger and this can be satisfied by getting your teeth into some of the slow roasted “Pig On a Spit” which is kindly provided and cooked by Pat Connefry, Aughavas and carved by expert victuallers Peter & Hugh Logan.

Tea, coffee and refreshments shall also be available during the day. Looking forward to seeing you all at this years fun day, and if you needed another reason on why you should go just remember it is a free event kindly hosted by the Rinn Shannon & District Angling Club.

Until next time … tight lines
