Congratulations to the gymnasts who took part in the Level 2-5 National Final in University Limerick recently. This was a very large competition with approximately 800 gymnasts taking part over two long days.

This was a first four piece competition for Ruby Lowe, Katherine Paykosh, Valeria Karaceva (Level 2 U9) and Rachel Kelly (Level 2 U10) who all competed very well on Floor, Bars Beam and Vault. Rachel brought home four regional gold medals.

Roseanna Callan (Level 3 over 10) competed in the largest group of the day with 117 gymnasts taking part. She did very well and just missed a regional medal on Bars. Kate Murphy (Level 4 U11), despite not feeling very well, took on the competition and brought home four regional medals, two silver on vault & floor and two bronze on Bars & Beam.

Aine Lyons (Level 4 U14) had a great competition taking home two regional medals silver on beam and gold on floor. Her floor routine won her the National Gold medal. She was well placed in a competitive group of 54 gymnasts finishing fourth on Beam and 8th on Bars in the National competition.

The girls all put a lot of hard work into their routines and they should be very proud of themselves. Thanks to the parents for all their support and to Mairead, Haylna & Lynn for the coaching expertise over the weekend and to Mary & Helen for taking on the Judging roles.
