Last week was a busy week for Trident swimmers, with members and their parents taking part in a National Bag Packing Day in Tesco on behalf of Habitat Ireland.

This was followed up on Good Friday by a sponsored swim in aid of the Ian Daly Swim a Mile With a Smile Event, which was held in Aura Leitrim Leisure from 7pm.

With the majority of club members taking part, the sponsored swim was a great success, raising much-needed funds for the Children’s Unit of Crumlin Hospital and Barretstown as well as promoting fantastic team spirit amongst the Trident members, who completed their swims in relays. Everyone involved with the club played a part in the event, with parents assisting with counting lengths, providing refreshments and taking photographs. After the club members had finished their swims, many of the parents, siblings, coaches and committee members also swam the mile, ensuring that all levels of the club were involved. Thank you to everyone who made donations to the sponsored swim, and also to Aura Leisure for making lanes available and supporting the event.

With Trident members from County Roscommon taking part in the Community Games County Swimming Final next Sunday 7 April in Roscommon, training will continue over the Easter break. Good luck to all our members living in County Roscommon taking part in this competition and we hope to see some of you progress to the National Finals in May.
