With 2012 coming to an end, the Leitrim Pool Association had the most successful year in their history.

Having won many award, the highlight being victories in the Junior County Pool team winning the Inter-County All Ireland and their captain, Kevin McWeeney with team-mate Joe McGuire winning ranking tournaments at Junior and Under-21 Level. Certainly the new pool hall with its supreme tables played the part in the team’s success along with the commitment and practice.

The Assocation would like to thank the parents and all involved in such a great achivement. To all the sponsors and all who contributed to the various fundraising events. To the Leitrim Observer and all who helped in any way, a big thank you. Making use of all the modern technology, the Association has recently set up their new website www.leitrimpool.com with the latest information and a calender of events both past and future. The LPA wish to welcome home for Christmas all the former pool players and all good wishes to all who could not make it. A very happy Christmas and peacefully propsperous New Year.

County League: The final fixtures of the year in Group A: Friday, December 21: Cardiff’s B v Duignan’s; Taylor’s v Blue Devon, Mulvey’s v Club F, BYE. In Group B: Monica’s v the Venue, Wednesday December 19; Thursday, December 20: Leitrim Inn v Cardiff’s; Shivnan’s v the Central; Carthy’s v Monica’s.

Leitrim Champion: The Letirim County Championship will be played in the Pool Hall, Drumshanbo on Sunday December 30, at 1pm. This is a knock-out competition with a place on the county team among the awards to the winner. To enter contact Gavin on 087-9593705 or John 086-8047407.
