Final gathering for Ballinamore PPS

This is officially the Year of the Gathering, but for the past and present pupils and staff of Ballinamore’s Post Primary Schools, this June Bank Holiday weekend will mark a very special ‘gathering’ of their own, the final chance to tour the school sites and meet up with old friends before the transfer to the new Community School site in early 2014.

Leitrim-native Pádraic Óg Gallagher has been elected President of the Restaurants Association of Ireland, the representative body for restaurants, gastro-pubs and cafés in Ireland. Pádraic Óg, son of the late Pat Gallagher MRCVS, and Anna Gallagher, was born and raised in Mohill, County Leitrim, Ireland, where his family ran a public house for many years.

Treacherous road surfaces must be addressed

Local councillor, John McCartin has called for an additional chip surface to be applied to two stretches of road in the Ballinamore area.
