Why visiting a qualified health professional is important

With so many practitioners all saying they do the same thing, I constantly get asked, who do I go to for what? How many visits do I need? What is the best value for money?

With so many practitioners all saying they do the same thing, I constantly get asked, who do I go to for what? How many visits do I need? What is the best value for money?

I get asked these questions all the time, and I have one simple answer. Trust a professional. If you have back or neck pain, why would you pay the same amount of money to visit someone who has a qualification gained over a couple of weeks or even 12 months as opposed to over four years studying in a university? Would you pop down to the local “Dentaloligist” to have your root canal? Of course you wouldn’t, you’d pick up the phone and call a qualified, registered Dentist to tend to those precious teeth. This is the approach you need to have with all aspects of your body. Trust a professional.

When dealing with any musculoskeletal complaints whether they be muscle or joint related, the most qualified practitioners to visits are Chiropractors, (only CAI Registered I may add), for joint complaints and Physiotherapists, (again only Chartered Physiotherapists) for muscle complaints and sports injuries, of course there is cross over, but in general that’s a good rule of thumb to go by.

Both of these practitioners have achieved similar qualifications but are most specialist in their own certain areas, both will have attended a proper university and received a min of a 4 year degree, some with even masters qualifications in dealing with your complaint.

If you don’t want to waste money, or you want to ensure you get your complaint resolved, this should be your first port of call.

When visiting the Bradley Clinic, a Chiropractor or a Physiotherapist will perform your initial consultation and from there you will either be referred to continue care with the Physio, the Chiro, or you will be referred back to your GP for a hospital or other appointment if more pressing or serious.
