The Embracing Change Programme: Leitrim Peace and Reconciliation Partnership has been nominated for Charlemagne Youth Prize 2014.
The project was aimed at young people in Leitrim establishing meaningful cross-community and cross-border initiatives that would improve trust and tolerance and reduce levels of sectarianism and racism. The Charlemagne Youth Prize, organised by the EU Parliament and the International Charlemagne Prize Foundation in Aachen, is awarded to youth projects. The Leitrim programme will now go forward to be considered winners from other EU countries. The winning projects will be awarded funding of €5,000, €3,000, and €2,000.
