A motion by Cllr Sean McGowan asking for two 60km speed signs to be put in place on the Farnaught side of Patrick Gilroy’s house at Beihy on the Mohill to Drumlish Road, has been deemed ‘unlikely’ to be undertaken by Council engineering staff.

Cllr McGowan was told that Council Engineers felt the provision of the speed signage would not really improve the situation for the householders in question.

A further request by Cllr McGowan for sightlines to be addressed at this location to allow for some measure of safety for the Gilroy family when existing their property was acknowledged by the Council however the area engineer noted“it will require the co-operation of the landowners and finding the necessary funding to undertake the works.”
