On Friday April 24, an army of volunteers will take to villages, towns and cities around Ireland to raise funds for Special Olympics Ireland annual Collection Day. Nationwide, over 3,000 volunteers will shake buckets from morning ‘til night with one aim – helping Special Olympics to raise half a million euros.

Signing up to shake a bucket at a collection point in your village, town or city will make all the difference. Volunteers are urgently required throughout County Leitrim to look after the collection points in Carrigallen, Mohill, Manorhamilton, Kinlough, Tullaghan, Ballinamore, Drumshanbo and Carrick-on-Shannon.

If you can’t volunteer on the April 24, you can support Special Olympics on the day by donating to one of the on street collectors or by texting the word SPECIAL to 50300 to donate €2. (100% of your €2 donation will go to Special Olympics Ireland.)

Throughout the day, Special Olympics Ireland and the volunteers will keep everyone up to date with their collection by tweeting and posting on Facebook.

Follow their progress at www.facebook.com/SpecialOlympicsIreland, and Twitter (@SOIreland).
