In this week’s Leitrim Observer read an exclusive interview with Joe McGivern who talks to the paper about the ordeal his daughter Maedhbh (14) and his family were subjected to on Saturday night last.
The McGivern family, from Ballinamore, had been informed on Saturday evening a liver had been obtained for Maedhbh in London and plans were put in place to get Maedhbh to England as quickly as possible.
Moments before boarding a helicopter in Sligo to travel to Kings College Hospital, London the flight was cancelled as it emerged the journey would take too long and would result in Maedhbh arriving in London outside the time frame in which the operation could take place.
Also in Wednesday’s Leitrim Observer read an exclusive interview with Richard Moorman CEO of Tamboran Resources in which he outlines the plans the company have to explore and eventually extract gas from the Lough Allen Basin. He believes his company could be in position to begin the controversial ‘fracking’ process in 18 months.
