2,500euro goods stolen from Council Yard The Leitrim County Council yard at Kiltoghert was broken into some time between April 12-15. Items were stolen with a total value of up to 2,500 euro. Gardai are seeking information from the public who saw anything suspicious during those days.

Oil Theft

Two separate private home heating tanks were broken into with amounts stolen in the Ballinamore area on the night of Wednesday, April 4. The homes targeted are on the border of the town. Gardai are asking for homeowners to be vigilant.

Threatened Doctor staff

A man “armed with a hurley” walked into a doctor’s surgery in Mohill at 8.50am on Wednesday, April 4 and threatened staff. Gardai are investigating the incident. A man has been questioned and a file has been sent to the DPP.

Traffic accident

A “minor” traffic accident took place on the Mohill- Dromod road on Monday night, April 9. Gardai said one person was taken to hospital, but their injuries are not serious. It is understood the crash occurred between a car and a jeep. Any witnesses to the accident are asked to come forward.

Stole Xbox games

Three Xbox games were stolen from Tesco, Carrick-on-Shannon on the morning of April 7. The person was arrested and the games were recovered. The accused came before a special sitting of Longford District Court and was remanded to appear before Harristown Court this Friday April 13.

Attempted car theft

In the early hours of Sunday morning, April 8 an attempt was made to steal a car in the town of Carrigallen. The car alarm went off and three men were seen leaving the scene in a black golf. Any information on this incident should be reported to Gardai.
