Eight Co Leitrim families have received help from the Jack & Jill Children’s Foundation since 1997 and now Nestlé Ireland staff are aiming to help even more seriously ill children and their families by raising €120,000 for the Jack & Jill Children’s foundation by the end of 2012.

The Foundation has been chosen as the Nestlé Ireland staff charity of the year. With less than 20% of its €2.7 million annual budget coming from the State, the Jack & Jill Foundation relies on corporate fundraisers and the public to survive. The money raised by Nestlé Ireland will provide 7,500 hours of vital nursing home care for children with severe neurological development.

Jack & Jill nurses give parents time to do normal things other families take for granted; like sleeping, shopping, visiting friends, or taking other children to the park for a cycle - with the peace of mind that their sick child is being well cared for. Jack & Jill currently supports 268 Irish families. The nationwide service includes nursing home visits and care, advice and bereavement support.
