Two men have been arrested and a file on the case sent to the DPP over an alleged rape in Carrick-on-Shannon earlier this year.
The Leitrim Observer carried the front page story on March 14 ‘Serious sexual assault reported’ and detailed how Gardai were appealing for CCTV footage.
The story last week received national coverage after five men were questioned and two arrested. The alleged victim from Northern Ireland was on a hen party in the county town and alleged to be raped by five men on a stage party.
A number of searches have also been carried out by gardai involved in the probe which has led to the seizure of a number of cannabis plants at a ‘small grow house’ which was connected to one of the suspects.
