Carrick fire crew blaze a trail of support for Special Olympic

Special Olympics is once again embarking on its annual All Ireland Collection Day. The collection, which is hosted in every county around Ireland will take place locally in Carrick-on-Shannon and Manorhamilton on Friday, April 15 and the crew of Carrick-on-Shannon fire station have pledged their support for the fundraiser.

2011 is the European Year of the Volunteer and according to Regional Fundraising Coordinator for Special Olympics Connaught, Lydia Rogers “Special Olympics would not survive without the tremendous work and dedication of so many volunteers.
