Members of the organising committee of the Matthew Sadlier Memorial Weekend in Mohill, Michael Kelly and Tom Owens are pictured on board a replica of the RMS Titanic. Matthew Sadlier, aged 19, from Clooncoo, Lough Rynn, Mohill perished on the ill-fated ship which sunk on its maiden voyage in the North Atlantic on April 15, 1912.
The weekend proved to be a huge success with memorials unveiled at his homeplace and in Mohill town. See pages 16 & 17 of this week’s Leitrim Observer for more pictures. Photo by Willie Donnellan.
