A special screening of “Gaslands” has been arranged by Leitrim Community Forum, but please note that only groups registered with Leitrim Community Forum can send a representative.

As numbers are very strictly limited for the screening GASLAND in Cinema North West 9pm at the Mayflower Drumshanbo on Tuesday the 16th of August it will be necessary for all group representatives to confirm attendance. I have been advised by the chair that only one representative from each group may attend and tickets will be printed by Leitrim Community Forum which is organising the showing of the film. Admission will be ticket only.

Recently there has been controversy about the proposed system for extraction of gas from the Lough Allen Basin. This film deals with aspects of the process used to extract the gas and it’s possible effects on the area. The process is called fracking. It is hoped that the film will give everyone a further insight in the issues involved.

It is a free showing to members of the Community Forum and representatives of community networks places are strictly limited to 80 people.

Launch of the new Leitrim Community Forum website will take place earlier in the evening at 7.30pm.
