Quinn claimed discrimination

Sean Quinn claimed he was discriminated against in a sectarian manner when seeking permission to set up his business in the 1980s.

The claim was revealed in files released in Belfast by the Public Records Office last week, which includes correspondence from Quinn seeking support for the cement plant. When the Industrial Development Board would not give more than 20% (£3.37M) of the cost, he wrote to the UU leader, James Molyneaux, but to no avail. The board found that the business revolved around Quinn and “his death or incapacity” ... “could be extremely serious.”
