Major franchise award for Carrick-on-Shannon business

A Carrick-on-Shannon based gym scooped a major national business award at the Irish Franchise Association Awards 2015 at the Clyde Court Hotel in Ballsbridge, Dublin on Friday night last.

A Carrick-on-Shannon based gym scooped a major national business award at the Irish Franchise Association Awards 2015 at the Clyde Court Hotel in Ballsbridge, Dublin on Friday night last.

Sásta Fitness, who are based at the Carrick Retail Park received national recognition by taking the Best Emerging Franchise Award.

The awards recognise excellence in franchising and reward outstanding achievements in businesses and individuals in the franchise industry.

Sásta Fitness beat a host of other notable and established franchises to take the award for the very first time.

Sásta were also recognised for their Pod fitness machine, which generates a work out that is achieves results up to four times faster than regular exercise.

The Sásta Fitness Pod is manufactured in Boyle and is commonly found in gyms across Ireland and the UK. Expansion within Europe and entry into the US market is the main focus for 2015/16.

Speaking at the event, the founder of the Carrick-on-Shannon branch of Sásta Fitness, Fiona Egan said: “It is fantastic to be recognised on a national stage.

“To see the locally manufactured Pod finally see success after so much hard work put in by myself and my dedicated team.
