Refurbishment of ETB Office in Carrick

The Department of Education and Skills has provided funding for the refurbishment of the Mayo Sligo Leitrim etb office at St George’s Terrace Carrick on Shannon.

The Department of Education and Skills has provided funding for the refurbishment of the Mayo Sligo Leitrim etb office at St George’s Terrace Carrick on Shannon.

The provision of this funding is an indication of the Department’s determination to retain a sub office in Co Leitrim which is a huge confidence boost for the provision of education in the county.

The office which was home to Co Leitrim Vocational Educational Committee since 1995, and Mayo Sligo Leitrim etb since 2012 was formerly Carrick on Shannon Vocational school.

The work which includes the provision of disability access, including a new lift, provision of new reception area, upgrade to sanitary facilities, newly refurbished windows, and a total rewiring of the building.

The contract is being carried out by McManus and Sons Ltd, building contractors Drumshanbo and is expected to take six months to complete.

The etb office is presently based in temporary office accommodation in Hartley Business Park for the duration of the building project.
