A team of fourth and fifth class students have shown exactly how creative they can be with just a little imagination, some hard work and a box of Triqo provided by Corrib Oil!

Earlier this summer, Corrib Oil invited local schools to submit entries to the ‘Corrib Oil Schools Competition’ where each school, Triqo, was tasked with creating a Triqo build. A spaceship, a bridge, a Rob the Robot, creativity from schools in Leitrim knew no bounds!

The fourth nad fifth class students in St. Brigid’s National School, Drumcong injected lots of energy into the task by creating a giant ‘St. Brigid’s Basilica’ with Triqo – they came out tops by winning a 600 piece Triqo set for their school along with lots of other Corrib Oil goodies and prizes. Their entry has been awarded top prize for their project from local Corrib Oil Station in Carrick-on-Shannon.

Triqo … the fun of intelligent play has just launched in time for Christmas. This amazing new toy comes in the form of triangles and squares in ten bright colours, which cleverly connect together, piece-by-piece, allowing the child to create three-dimensional shapes. The beauty of ‘Triqo’ is found in its simplicity, something you could say is lost in many of the hi-tech toys of today.

According to local Corrib Oil Station Manager, Noel Scally, “The pupils really did go for it, injected lots of energy and creativity into their entries. We were overwhelmed with the talent from all local schools. The entry from St Brigid’s NS, Drumcong really did stand out. We just loved ‘St Brigid’s Bascilica’ which has been on show at the Carrick-on-Shannon Corrib Oil Station over the summer. Their entry shows just what good team work can do – what Corrib Oil is all about. We are delighted to present St Brigids National School 4th & 5th class with their winning giant box of Triqo. ”

Christina McGourty of St Brigid’s National School, commented, “The children got on great with Triqo, we were delighted with their enthusiasm. It just shows that sometimes the simplest of toys can bring out creativity!”
