LADY Windermer’s Fan, Oscar Wilde’s classic comedy, adapted by Patrick J. O’Reilly and directed by Lisa May comes to the Glens Centre, Manorhamilton for one night only on Wednesday, November 28 at 8.30pm.
Lady Margaret Windermere - a woman of high morals and absolute conviction. In her mind, people are either good or bad, with nothing in between. She discovers, to her horror, that her husband may be having an affair with another woman, of dubious moral standing!
Bruiser is delighted to be presenting the World Premiere of this brand new adaptation by Patrick J. OReilly (Stewart Parker Award Winner) to The Glens.
Patrick says, “It’s brilliant to be back working with Bruiser again on Wilde’s masterpiece. I’ve been amazed at just how contemporary Oscar’s play is full of wonderful characters and fantastic situations and so funny too! Bruiser’s new production is not to be missed!”
This is a classic Oscar Wilde comedy - parlours and parties, eavesdropping, misunderstandings, secret information, letters falling into unintended hands, and the cheeky wooing of pretty young daughters. Does Lady Margaret learn about life, love and the society she thought she knew so well? You bet she does! Wilde’s razor-sharp wit and satire of high society is as keenly observed and relevant today as any contemporary writer’s work. Bruiser’s new production will be a treat for all!
Catch it when it comes to the Glens Centre on Wednesday 28th Nov, tickets can be booked by calling 071 98 55833 or online at www.theglenscentre.com
