The search for Ireland’s favourite bookshop is nearing the final chapter, and Carrick-on-Shannon’s The Reading Room is in the running for the coveted title of Bord Gáis Energy Bookshop of the Year.

The search for Ireland’s favourite bookshop is nearing the final chapter, and Carrick-on-Shannon’s The Reading Room is in the running for the coveted title of Bord Gáis Energy Bookshop of the Year.

As the deadline for voting draws closer and the competition for the prestigious title of Bookshop of the Year heats up, Bord Gáis Energy is encouraging book lovers nationwide to vote for their favourite bookshop at www.BGEbookshopoftheyear.ie until the closing date of 18th October .

The Bookshop of the Year Award celebrates the wonderful work that bookshops nationwide do to promote the nation’s love of books and reading.

Voters will be in with the chance to win great prizes including book hampers, iPads, goodie bags and an all expenses paid trip to the Bord Gáis Energy Irish Book Awards where the overall winner of the Bookshop of the Year will be revealed.

A shortlist of five bookshops across five regions: Munster, Ulster, Connacht, Leinster and Greater Dublin will be announced on 31st October and the winner will be announced at the Bord Gáis Energy Irish Book Awards ceremony on 26th November.
