National Schools Enterprise Awareness Programme

National School pupils from fourteen schools in Leitrim recently took part in an Enterprise Awareness Programme aimed at educating children on entrepreneurship and business.

National School pupils from fourteen schools in Leitrim recently took part in an Enterprise Awareness Programme aimed at educating children on entrepreneurship and business.

Developed by Leitrim County Enterprise Board, the programme consisted of workshops and a logo/slogan competition.

Aimed at 5th and 6th class pupils, the feedback from participating schools was very positive and and eight schools took part in the competition part of the programme which consisted of designing a logo/slogan for entrepreneurship.
The standard of applications was very high with all students putting alot of 
thought and time into their entries.

The 2013 winner for the competition is the 5th and 6th class group from St.Brigid’s National School, Drumcong with their entry: “Think outside the box!!” Take Risks! Have Ambition! Innovation! New Ideas! Keep chasing the Dream!

On June 26th, Geraldine Reynolds Assistant CEO and Nicola McManus Business Advisor from Leitrim County Enterprise Board attended St. Brigid’s to make a presentation to the winning class. Geraldine Reynolds congratulated the group on their success and presented them with a piece of Leitrim Crystal to mark the occasion. Well done to all involved!
