Walkers of all ages and abilities are preparing to climb Croagh Patrick this Sunday, July 29 in order to raise funds for the Irish Heart Foundation and FAST Stroke Campaign through ‘Terry’s China Trek’.

Well known community worker and GAA man Terry Williams is raising funds for the Irish Heart Foundation and Fast Stroke campaign.

Terry, who lives in Rossan, is travelling to China later this year to take part in a seven day “Great Wall Trek” for the charity. The aim is to raise a minimum of €4,500 for the Irish Heart Foundation and it is a charity which has special significance for Terry.

In 1999 he suffered an acute heart block which led to ventricular tachycardia. Terry had to have surgery implanting a permanent ICD ( Implantable Cardioverter - Defibrillator).

Terry has started a special Facebook page which he will keep updated - http://www.facebook.com/pages/Terrys-China-Trek-2012/289117927814754 - and he hopes that everyone will get behind this very worthy charity and help him reach his goal.
