The AGM of Leitrim Association of People With Disabilities was held on Tuesday, 22nd October in the Action Ability Centre, Station Road, Mohill.

The AGM of Leitrim Association of People With Disabilities was held on Tuesday, 22nd October in the Action Ability Centre, Station Road, Mohill.

The meeting was chaired by Vice-Chairperson, Mary Curran. Tributes were paid to the three retiring directors Andy McGovern, Tom Lavin and Maureen McNabola.

All three above had given long and committed service to the Governance and development of LAPWD.

Three new directors were nominated and accepted onto the Board Teresa Brigdale-Dean, Terry Williams and Donal Fox.

Leitrim Association of People With Disabilities continues to deliver a range of home care supports to people with disabilities throughout Co. Leitrim. In addition we also offer transport support with our accessible bus.

Throughout the year the staff in LAPWD arranges many courses of a social and recreational nature open to all members of society.

These social events and courses are advertised in the local press, church bulletins and on www.lapwd.com.

Ms Niamh O’Connor the artist in residence funded under the SPARK project led by Leitrim County Council arts office outlined her vision for the residency.

Niamh is anxious to meet and listen to the views of members of the wider public on how LAPWD can bring greater public benefit to the wider community.
