A local blog has been shortlisted for an Irish Blog Awards. That Curious Love of Green, written by Jane Gilheaney Barry was selected by a panel of judges in the ‘Best Lifestyle Blog’ category.

Jane is also known for her work with The Shaylyn Group and for her PR work across the region. She started the blog which takes its name from an Oscar Wilde quote just one year ago.

“After funding for the Shaylyn centre came to an end I found myself at home for the first time and with small children and no car. I started the blog because it was a challenge I could take on from my kitchen table and after years of pr writing I wanted to get more in to the creative side of writing, learn and develop new skills in technology, styling and photography and see where it would take me” she said

That Curious Love of Green explores themes of creative and of mindful living through the little things in life. It’s a blend of nostalgia and memories of growing up in Ballinamore in the 70’s and 80’s, of everyday family life and events and general musings. There’s growing your own food, recipes and entertaining, interviews with inspiring people and more.

Jane said being shortlisted by the judges “is a dream come true.”

That Curious Love of Green was one of just 22 blogs shortlisted from 87 nominees.

Jane will have to wait to September 29th to find out if she has made the list of finalists. The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony in October.
