The Landmark Hotel has been named as the Overall Best Wedding Hotel in Connacht for the second year running in the Mrs2Be.ie Brides’ Choice Awards.

The Carrick-on-Shannon based hotel received the award last week following a novel ‘online awards ceremony’ which trended nationally across several social media platforms.

The awards are the first and only Irish wedding industry awards that are based on a detailed review process involving each entrant’s previous customers. Entrants are judged on a range of criteria including professionalism and quality.

It was a tense couple of hours for the staff of the hotel as they followed the awards online but just before 9.50pm on Wednesday last, May 20 they were named as the best choice for weddings in the province.

The Landmark Hotel also scooped the same prize last year during the inaugural Mrs2Be Brides’ Choice Awards last year with the awards open to all businesses who offer a wedding related service to Irish based couples.

Judged by both real brides and grooms and a panel of independent judges with industry knowledge, the awards recognise excellence within the wedding industry.

Speaking following the announcement, Philip Lee, General Manager of The Landmark Hotel, Carrick-on-Shannon said: “As a team we are delighted!. These awards are totally based on the choices of brides and grooms and are not based on votes.

“That was so important to us as it means that those who count - the brides and grooms loved their experience here at The Landmark. What more could we really ask for?!”
