Do you, or perhaps someone you know, have difficulty reading or holding a newspaper then the Leitrim Talking Newspaper may be for you.

The Leitrim Talking Newspaper (LTN) is a voluntary organisation that records the Leitrim Observer newspaper for the visually impaired and other people with reading difficulties.

Originally this recording was made on tape but in recent years the process went digital and is now distributed on memory sticks at no cost to the recipients. Memory sticks can be played via laptops and other devices or for a small charge the LTN can provide a specially adapted MP3 Player that allows the listener to go direct to each part of the paper at the push of a button.

Do you know anyone that would benefit from this service? If you do then please call Ann on 0861539699 or email pfmgriffin@gmail.com.

Similarly, if you would like to help as a volunteer reader or recording technician then please get in touch.

Recording is carried out every Wednesday by a rota of volunteers which means that the current commitment is approximately three hours every two months.

The LTN would like to take this opportunity to thank our volunteer recording teams for their ongoing support, our sponsors and the Avantcard organisation in Carrick-on-Shannon who kindly provide the accommodation for our studio.
