The Leitrim Roots Festival runs from September 20-28 this year.
There are people coming from all over the world from places such as Alberta and Quebec in Canada, Colorado, Florida, New York and Pennsylvania in the USA, N.S. Wales and Western Australia and Liverpool, St Albans and Stafford in England for this popular festival. The daily packages include a Yeats Day at Lough Gill and Glencar, a Famine Research Day in Carrick and Strokestown, a Genealogy Day at Ballinamore and Carrigallen. The week long festival also includes a North Leitrim Tour day with visits to Arigna Mining Experience, Glenfarne’s Ballroom of Romance, Sean Mac Diarmada’s homestead in Kiltyclogher and Ballinaglera. There will be a Gala Dinner and Ceili in The Bush hotel, Carrick-on-Shannon.
