With a shop floor spanning 990m² and 96 free car parking spaces, the new store will be Aldi’s first in Co. Leitrim.

Aldi is committed to providing Irish consumers with a quality own label grocery offering at very competitive prices. The new store will sell a core range of approximately 1,350 own label lines across a wide spectrum of products, including fresh fruit & vegetables, fresh meat & poultry, baked goods, milk & dairy, wines & beers, cosmetics & toiletries and household supplies.

In addition to Aldi’s core range there will be a constant flow of one-off ‘Specialbuys’ available each Thursday and Sunday at massive discounts to the market. These ‘Specialbuys’ will include electrical items, textiles and gardening and household goods.

Aldi is committed to growing its Irish supply base and increasing the number of Irish products available throughout its Irish stores. Over 50% of all grocery sales at Aldi are generated on products bought from Irish suppliers, producers and manufacturers. All of Aldi’s fresh meats, fresh poultry, eggs, bread, flour, and many of its teas, coffees, soft drinks, waters and snacks come from leading Irish suppliers.

Aldi’s Irish suppliers won more titles than the suppliers of any other retailer in Ireland at both the 2010 and 2011 Blas na hÉireann National Irish Food Awards, netting a total of 28 awards.  Aldi also performed strongly at the prestigious 2012 Great Taste Awards in London, picking up a total of 47 titles, 29 of which were for products sourced from Irish suppliers. The performance builds on Aldi’s successful tally of 23 Great Taste Awards in 2011 and means that Aldi has now achieved more product award wins than any other Irish retailer in the past three years. In addition, three of Aldi’s Irish cheeses received awards at the 2011 Irish Cheese Awards.  For the second year running, Aldi was named Ireland’s leading fresh food discounter at the 2012 Checkout Best in Fresh Awards.
