Rebecca’s Rules author Anna Carey to visit local libraries

Anna Carey has been described as one of the most talented Irish authors to emerge in recent years. She is a Journalist, Teenage Book Reviewer and used to sing and play in a band. Her books are about a character called Rebecca. Rebecca’s life is ruined by her mother and complicated by boys and birthdays. Her book ‘The Real Rebecca’ won the Children’s Book of the year in 2011 and she has followed this up with her newest novel ‘Rebecca Rules’.

Anna will be visitng a number of libraries over two days in Co Leitrim during the Halloween break. These readings and workshops are suitable for children and young people aged from 10 years and upwards. Parents are also very welcome.

The County Library staff welcome everyone and in particular young people to come along and talk to Anna, ask her questions about her writing and job as a Journalist or even just to listen. Places are limited so early booking is advisable. Admission is free.

This event is an initiative led by the Department of Children and Youth Affairs for National Recreation Week and organised by Leitrim County Council and Leitrim County Library.
