AS the fiesta heats up in Carrick-on-Shannon festival goers can cool down with a delicious HB Ice Cream and support a worthwhile cause.
The organisers of the forthcoming Carnival Festival which will run from May 31st to June 9th in Carrick-on-Shannon are set to run a series of HB Hazelbrook Farm Ice cream Funday parties to support Down Syndrome Ireland.
The parties will include free activities for all the family and plenty of HB Hazelbrook Farm ice cream!
The parties will be held as part of a series of free family fun events at Carnival on the 1st, 2nd , 8th and 9th of June in the Town park from 2pm -5pm. Festival goers are just being asked to make a donation in exchange for ice cream to support this worthy cause.
Celebrating its eleventh anniversary this year, the Ice Cream Fundays campaign has to date raised more than €2.5 million for a wide range of supports and services to ensure people with Down syndrome, young and old, reach their full potential.
The funds raised will go to Down Syndrome Ireland which provides an array of vital support to their member families which would not be possible without the support of everyone who holds or attends a HB Ice Cream Funday Party.
Organiser of the Carnival Festival said: “We are delighted to support Down Syndrome Ireland and their fundraising endeavours. We are asking festival goers to donate what they can to this worthwhile cause as this is the key fundraising initiative for Down Syndrome Ireland.”
The Carrick-on-Shannon community festival is celebrating the town’s 400th birthday this year. The focus is on family fun, music and street entertainment and a there will be a few surprises too
